Summary

Backup failed with exit code -312 after yum update.

Environment

CentOS 5.x / 6.x
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.x / 6.x

Cause

The driver file will remains removed when the snapshot driver related file is updated by the yum update.

Workaround

1) Execute the following command to get the driver’s path.

  # modinfo dattobd | grep filename

2) Execute the following command on the path you got in 1) to load the driver.

  # insmod /lib/modules/<kernel Version>/extra/dattobd.ko

3) If the driver name is returned with the following command, it is loaded correctly.

  # lsmod | grep dattobd
