Summary
Restore Entire Disk in extended size fails under these conditions:
– Attempting to restore the backup image of a disk, including the system, to the second bare metal disk with the OS running.
Causes
ActiveImage Protector 2018 restores the Disk Signature from the backup image file. When the backup source is part of the first disk, an extended size Restore Entire Disk fails due to two identical signatures. However, restoring to the original size completes normally as the process is done offline.
Workaround
Please choose one of the following procedures:
1) Perform Restore Entire Disk in the original size.
2) Choose [Use target disk signature] in Restore Target settings and restore entire disk in extended size.
3) Boot up boot environment and restore disk when only the restore target disk only is recognized.
