Summary
ActiveImage Protector helps with backing up and recovering either the whole disk or a specific volume. When setting up the backup, you choose between saving the entire disk or just a particular volume based on the conditions for later restoring the backup image.
Decide Backup Type
– Backup entire disk
Unless there's a specific reason, it's advised to choose [Entire Disk] for the backup source.
– Backup a volume
If you're in a unique setup like a cluster, choose [Volume] for backup. However, note that for BIOS boot systems, ActiveImage Protector excludes certain sectors during recovery, leading to potential boot issues. For UEFI boot systems, there might be a boot problem with STOP Error 0xc000000e during system volume recovery to a bare metal disk.
Decide Restore Type
For special setups like clusters, pick [Volume] for backup. Keep in mind, for BIOS boot systems, ActiveImage Protector excludes some sectors during recovery, risking boot problems. In UEFI boot systems, recovery to a bare metal disk may encounter a boot issue with STOP Error 0xc000000e.
How to restore entire disk
Click on [Disk 0] of the item you want to restore (backup image). Specify the restore target by choosing a disk for [Target Setting].
