Summary
When using a Windows PE-based or Linux-based boot environment, the specified hard disk for backup or restore may not be detected due to the lack of a storage controller driver. In Linux-based boot environments, you cannot add the driver. To address this, use a Windows PE-based boot environment and follow the provided workaround.
Workaround
1) Upgrade Windows ADK to the latest version
Upgrade Windows ADK to the latest version to update the storage controller driver, allowing the detection of the hard disk. If using an older version of Windows ADK, update it to the latest version and rebuild the Windows PE-based boot environment.
2) Load the driver for storage controller
Visit the PC hardware maker's website, download the storage controller driver in ".inf" format. Note that drivers in "Setup.exe" format cannot be added to Windows PE-based boot environments. When in the Windows PE-based boot environment, navigate to [Utilities] -> [Driver Loader], load the downloaded driver, and check if the hard disk is detected.
