Summary
The File Recovery task uses robocopy in the background, preserving access rights and attributes. The robocopy option excludes junctions to prevent infinite loops. However, on a Windows data-deduplicated drive, the data deduplication involves a chunk store treated as a kind of junction. As the recovery task excludes junctions, restoring files from a backup image on a Windows data-deduplicated drive may fail for some files.
Workaround
To restore a file from a backup image on a drive with enabled Windows data deduplication, mount the backup image and manually copy the file.
