Limitations when backing up virtual machines connected to physical disks (pass-through disks) configured on Hyper-V

Summary

HyperAgent, the agentless backup feature in ActiveImage Protector for Hyper-V Enterprise and Virtual Edition, does not support backing up virtual machines connected to pass-through disks. This limitation arises from the Windows Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) not creating snapshots of pass-through disks during the backup process. To back up a virtual machine connected to a pass-through disk, install ActiveImage Protector (agent-based) on the virtual machine and run a backup task.
