When configuring DNS settings in Network Configuration window in WinPE-based boot environment, "Configuration of DNS setting failed." is displayed and the setting configuration failed

Summary

In Windows PE-based boot environment built by using ADK10 Version 2004, when selecting [Utilities] – [Network Setting] and configuring DNS settings in Network Settings Windows, “Configuration of DNS setting failed.” is displayed and the setting configuration failed.

Causes

This issue occurs with a specific version of ADK and depends on ADK.

Workaround

Please try one of the following versions.

• ADK for Windows 10, Version 1903
• ADK for Windows 11
• ADK for Windows Server 2022
