Summary
When restore task runs, "The target disk is not identical to the source disk" message is returned and the task failed.
Causes
This error is caused due to one of the following situations occurred.
- The number of source disks and the number of restore target disks are not the same.
- The source disk size is larger than the restore target disk size.
Workaround
Please make sure that the number of source disks is the same as or larger than the restore target disks.
Please make sure that the source disk size is the same or smaller than the restore target disk size.
If you get an error message even when the above conditions are satisfied, the source disk may not be recognized on the boot environment.
Please run the following command and make sure the connected disks are entirely recognized.
If not recognized, please download the driver for the storage controller from the maker's Web site and rebuild the boot environment.
1)Press [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [c] keys and launch command prompt.
2) Run "diskpart"
X:\Program Files\ActiveImage Protector>diskpart
3) Run "list disk" and check the number of disks.
DISKPART>list disk
