Summary
Using antivirus or resource-intensive software can slow down or prevent writing to the ActiveImage Protector config file, leading to corruption. When the "aip.ini" file is corrupted, ActiveImage Protector operates with minimal parameters, causing backups to run extremely slowly. Additionally, corrupted schedules may not be visible on the AIP console, and scheduled backups may cease to function.
Workaround
Exclude the AIP installation path from the antivirus software's scan.
Locating AIP install path
The AIP installation path is the output of the command when AipService.exe is excluded, specifically the BINARY_PATH_NAME.
> sc qc AipService | findstr BINARY > BINARY_PATH_NAME : C:\Program Files\Actiphy\ActiveImage Protector\AipService.exe Install Path C:\Program Files\Actiphy\ActiveImage Protector
If the ActiveImage Protector config file and schedules are corrupted, follow these procedures:
When ActiveImage Protector config file (aip.ini) and schedules are corrupted
1) Go to Windows Programs and Features and uninstall ActiveImage Protector.
2) Delete "aip.ini" if remaining in AIP installation path.
3) Install AIP again.
4) Configure the required settings again.
When only schedules are corrupted
1) Close AIP console and stop ActiveImage Protector Service in Service list.
2) Delete ".xml" file located in AIP installation path.
> cd <Installation Path> > del /s *.xml 例 > cd C:\Program Files\Actiphy\ActiveImage Protector > del /s *.xml
3) Start AIP service from the service list.
4) Launch AIP console and newly create the schedules.
