The "Verify" method ensures that created backups are readable and can be used later.
Function "Verify" not used before
If the function has not been used before, you can simply activate it.
Function "Verify" previously used in ActiveImage Protector
If you have already used the function in ActiveImage Protector, select "Only verify most recent incremental image" in the settings. In this variant, only new images are checked. If the option is deactivated, all previous images that have already been checked in ActiveImage Protector would be checked as well. Depending on the number of files, this can be very time-consuming.
Recommendation
To ensure that the backup is readable, activate the option "Immediately" in the schedule. If the time schedule were used, in case of doubt it could only be determined at the end of the day that the image chain is defective. In this case, there would be a high risk of data loss.
Verify Settings
Since ImageCenter Version 5, you can choose between two different verification methods.
- Quick
Checks if internal tampering of the image file has occurred. - Deep
Verifies the integrity of a created backup image files
Note: The "Deep" option is only available starting with ImageCenter version 5. Earlier versions automatically use "Fast" as the method.
