The "Verify" method checks if backups are readable and usable in the future.
Function "Verify" not used before
If the function hasn't been used before, you can just activate it.
Function "Verify" previously used in ActiveImage Protector
If you've used the function in ActiveImage Protector before, choose "Only verify most recent incremental image" in settings. With this option, only new images are checked. If deactivated, all previously checked images in ActiveImage Protector would be re-verified, which can be time-consuming, especially with a large number of files.
Recommendation
To ensure the backup is readable, choose the "Immediately" option in the schedule. Using a time schedule may pose a risk of only discovering image chain defects at the end of the day, leading to a higher risk of data loss.
Verify Settings
Starting from ImageCenter Version 5, you can select from two verification methods.
- Quick
Checks if internal tampering of the image file has occurred. - Deep
Verifies the integrity of a created backup image files
Note: The "Deep" option is only available starting with ImageCenter Version 5. Earlier versions automatically use "Fast" as the method.
