Depending on the circumstances of the system environment, there are two basic recommendations for replication.
Variant 1
You are using a fixed local or cloud-based target storage. In this case, one of the 4 options should be selected from the area marked in red.
- If your upload speed is fast enough for full backups, choose "All image files" or "Only last generation backup files." The first option transfers all image chains, while the second option only transfers the latest one, automatically deleting older data. This is helpful if the destination has less disk space than the source.
- If your upload speed is too slow for full backups, choose "Only the incremental backup files" or "Only last generation's incremental files." The first option transfers all incremental files for all image chains, while the second option transfers only the incremental files of the latest image chain, automatically deleting older data. This is helpful when the destination has less disk space than the source.
Variant 2
If you're using a rotating local target storage, choose the red-marked lower option. This ensures that the old and new image files on the target storage match those of the source, regardless of the target storage's data status.
- For scheduling, the default recommendation is the first option, "Immediately." This ensures that replication, including new image files, occurs promptly, saving backups to the target volume as quickly as possible.
- For collective transfers, choose the second option, "After each XX new incremental file(s)." For instance, with a backup interval of "every 15 minutes" and the setting "4," only the 4 newest image files are replicated once an hour.
- If you prefer a daily upload at a specific time due to bandwidth or other reasons, select the third option, "At XX". You can then set intervals for weeks, months, and days as needed.
