Delete the history of remote machines

Summary

Choose [Connect to new remote host] from the menu next to [Host Name] in the upper left corner of the window. A list of previously connected remote machines will appear. To remove undesired history of past remote connections, adjust the console settings to delete the history. 

Workaround

When AIP is installed on Windows

Workaround 1

1)  Open ActiveImage Protector and navigate to [Preference] - [Console]. Enable the [Enable Network Client Management Console] option in [Advanced Options] by checking the checkbox.

2)  Change [Host Name] in the upper left of the window to [Management Console] and click [Management Console].

3)  View a list of previously connected remote machines. Right-click on the machine you want to remove from the list and choose [Delete].

4)  To restore settings, go to [Preference] - [Console Setting]. Disable the [Enable Network Client Management Console] option in [Advanced Options] by unchecking the checkbox.

The above mentioned Workaround 1 is not applicable due to the conditions stated below. We will address the issue.

- Only Remote Console is installed. (common with Windows / Linux）

- Installed on Linux environment

Workaround 2 

1) Close the AIP console on the target environment and open the following file by using Notepad, etc. <User Name> indicates the logon user who opened the AIP console. AppData folder is a hidden folder.

C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\ActiveImageProtector\guicfg.ini

2) Delete [Connect_History] section and parameters entirely, then overwrite and save the file.

When AIP is installed on Linux

1) Close the AIP console on the target environment and open the following file by using a text editor such as vi.

/opt/Actiphy/guicfg.ini

2) Delete [Connect_History] section and parameters entirely, then overwrite and save the file.

The items to remove are the same as when the AIP console is installed on Windows.
