In Windows 11/2025 (updated via Windows Update), the network may become unavailable in the boot environment created with Windows RE

Details

When the network is connected in the boot environment created with Windows RE, a "Path not found" message appears, and net use doesn't work properly.

Other confirmed phenomenon: 
- Shutting-down and rebooting boot environment is not normally performed.
- Launching File Explorer fails in error and File Explorer is not available.

Causes

As a result of application of KB5053598, winre.wim in Windows is updated. This issue seems to be caused by creating boot environment by using Windows RE in the environment.

Workaround

Create boot environment using Windows ADK.
