The installation finishes instantly, and ActiveImage Protector 2022 may not function properly. This article applies to version 7.x (7.0.0.8643) or later.

Follow these operating procedures.
Caution: Deleting any registry entries not listed below may cause system issues.
Operating Procedures
1) Open Registry Editor
- Type "regedit" in the Windows search bar and press Enter. Warning: Deleting the wrong registry entries may cause system issues.
- If a key is missing, skip that step.
2) Delete Registry Key
Locate and delete the registry key in these three locations:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components
- Right-click [Components], select [Search], enter "ActiveImage Protector", and click [Search Next].
Right-click the first highlighted registry key and select Delete.
Click Yes to confirm deleting the key and its subkeys.
2-2) Go to:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Products

Right-click [Products], select [Search], enter "ActiveImage Protector", and click [Search Next].
Then, find the InstallProperties key in the left pane, where "DisplayName" is "Actiphy ActiveImage Protector".
2-3) Navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\Folders

Right-click "Folders" > Select [Search] > Enter "ActiveImage Protector" > Click [Search Next].

The first ActiveImage Protector folder is highlighted in the right panel.

Scroll down, hold Shift, and select the last ActiveImage Protector entry to highlight all related keys.

Right-click > Select [Delete] > Confirm with [Yes].
Be careful not to delete keys for other products.
- Right-click the numeric key one level above this key (e.g., {6C9156B50DFA4B44080918D224A55A9C}) and select [Delete].

Confirm by selecting [Yes] in the prompt.

Uninstall and reinstall the product. If settings aren’t restored after reinstalling with the [Retain configuration and log files] option, reconfigure the settings.

If the installation fails after the steps above, try installing again.
When you use the operating procedures stated in this article with Version 6.x (6.5.1.7720) or earlier program
After following the steps in this article and attempting to reinstall Version 6.x, the installation will fail with the following message.

Afterward, the following message will appear, and the installation will fail.

If this happens, download the ActiveImage Protector 2018 uninstaller from here. Double-click uninstaller.exe to uninstall ActiveImage Protector 2018, then reboot your system. After that, install ActiveImage Protector 2022. If the installer window doesn’t appear, right-click the installer and select [Run as Administrator]. When prompted, click [Yes] to allow changes. The installation window will open, and you can proceed with the installation.
