The boot environment created with Windows RE usually doesn't start properly

Details

The boot environment created by using Windows RE may not start properly.

1) A blue screen error occurred during boot, causing it to fail.

Blue screen errors have been identified.

- DRIVER_VERIFIER_VIOLATION (0xE6)
- 0xc000000f
- 0xc000a004

2) The boot environment may start, but stick-type (non-removable) USB devices aren't recognized. 

- When using Boot Environment Builder, stick-type USB devices aren’t detected and can't be used as backup destinations. 

- When creating a boot environment with Deploy Media Creator on a stick-type USB, it boots, but shows the error “Failed to retrieve data from USB media.”
This happens because Windows RE doesn't recognize the USB, so license information can't be read.  

Workaround

Create a Windows PE-based boot environment using the Windows ADK.
