Summary
During a HyperBackup task, a snapshot of the Hypervisor is taken for backup. However, if the VSS on the virtual machine isn't running, the truncation of Exchange Server transaction logs doesn't occur.
Workaround
To truncate transaction logs, VSS-enabled snapshots on virtual machines are needed. AIP 2018 Update 7 provides PowerShell and VBS scripts for this purpose.
* When the use of PowerShell is not allowed, please use VBS.
When setting up HyperBackup schedule, choose [Advanced Option] - [Script to execute after the snapshot is taken], and select the script from the specified path.
* Log in as a user with [administrator] privileges in the [Domain] and activate administrative share.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Actiphy\ActiveImage Protector\HyperAgen\ExtCmd
- diskshadow.ps1
- diskshadow_ex.vbs
Check the log information for the truncation result.
