Details

Execute the script [AIP-packages-tool.sh] from the product media in terminal by entering:
# ./AIP-packages-tool.sh

This will present the Install menu and its details.
[1] Agent
If you are operating AIP 2018 Linux edition through commands instead of the GUI or remote GUI, choose this option to install the necessary packages for the AIP 2018 Linux edition Agent.

[2] GUI
If you're exclusively using the GUI of AIP 2018 Linux edition, choose this option. No installation is needed in minimal environments like GNOME.

[3] [1]-[2]All
In most cases, choose this option. It installs the packages needed for both AIP 2018 Linux edition Agent and GUI.

[4] Kernel-devel
Automatically installs Kernel-devel based on the current Kernel version. This is essential for compiling the snapshot driver.

[5] Install datto driver
Installs the snapshot driver necessary for the Backup feature of AIP 2018 Linux edition. While the AIP 2018 Linux edition installer can handle this component, choosing this item is optional.

[6] Install AIP Linux
Run the installer of AIP 2018 Linux edition.

[7] Uninstall datto driver
Remove the datto driver. If a backup task fails after a kernel update due to snapshot errors, choose this option to uninstall and reinstall the datto driver.

[8] Help
Detailed information of the respective items are displayed.

[9] Exit
End script.

When the system is connected to the internet, the required packages are installed:
* RHEL clone OS 7.0 - 7.5 does not support package installation over network.

If the system lacks internet connectivity, have the Linux OS setup DVD ready. For CentOS7.x, use the Everything ISO as it contains the necessary packages. 

Example of Installation Procedures

Install AIP 2018 Linux edition.
1) Navigate to the product media mount point in the terminal.

cd /<Mount Point>

2) Run the script [AIP-packages-tool.sh] from the product media.

# ./AIP-packages-tool.sh

3) Install the required packages for AIP 2018 Linux edition Agent and GUI.
Enter "1" or "3" and press Enter key.

4) Install Kernel-devel needed for compiling AIP 2018 Linux edition snapshot driver.
Enter "4" and press Enter key.

5) Run the AIP 2018 Linux edition installer.
Enter "6" and press Enter.

6) Refer to the detailed installation procedures on the provided site: http://webhelp.actiphy.com/AIP/Linux/2018/ja/help/install/install_uninstall.htm

7) When the installation process is complete, end the execution of the script.

Enter "9" and press Enter.
