A BSOD may occur on Windows when running a HyperBack task after installing ActiveImage Protector.
(BSOD occurs in the environment where HyperBack task was executed.)
We have confirmed that this phenomenon occurs in the environment where the following specific conditions are met.
・AIP is installed on Windows Server 2025.
・A HyperBack task is used to back up a virtual machine.
The issue is currently under investigation and no fix is available yet.
As a workaround, stop using HyperBack and install ActiveImage Protector on the virtual machine, then run an agent-based backup task instead. Or, run HyperBack task in OS other than Windows Server 2025 (for example, Windows Server 2022, etc.), so that this phenomenon does not occur any longer. Agent-based backups or Windows Server OS other than Windows Server 2025 is recommended in environments that meet the above conditions.
This issue was fixed in Patch Version 26.2.17.6 (February 6, 2026).
