On-line backup using HyperBack

When performing an online backup of a VM with HyperBack, take a snapshot on the hypervisor by enabling the specified options.

ESXi or vCenter

For VMs on ESXi or Hyper-V 2016 and later, online backup ensures data consistency in VSS-savvy databases. However, for VMs on Hyper-V 2012 R2 or earlier, data consistency is not guaranteed.

If a VSS-savvy database is on a VM on Hyper-V 2012 R2 or earlier, use HyperBack's [Advanced Setting] - [Scripting] to run a script before taking snapshots. This pauses the database before capturing a snapshot. You need to execute a script that sets a database to run after a snapshot is taken.

Instead of using HyperBack, when capturing a VM snapshot by using the above operating procedures fails in error, HyperBack also fails in error. Please investigate the cause of VSS error while the guest machine is running.
