Summary
ActiveImage Protector 2018 Update7 / 2022 includes a Backup Time-out option to prevent unexpected delays in the backup process that could affect other tasks.
To use this feature, navigate to [Backup Schedule] — [2 Select Destination] — [Advanced Options] — [General] — [Backup time-out]. Here, you can set the time-out and the maximum duration allowed for a backup task to finish.
If a backup task exceeds the specified time, an error log is recorded in the Task Log, and the task execution is canceled.

When you specify [1 hour] for backup timeout: 11/18/2021 05:27:55.727 aipcopy started : 11/18/2021 05:27:56.391 BackupTimeout: 60 : 11/18/2021 05:30:25.733 actual packet_queue_size 4 11/18/2021 06:27:56.027 Backup timeout (60 minutes), cancel task Level = WARNING[0] 11/18/2021 06:29:12.486 Pipeline end, exit code: -1 : 11/18/2021 06:29:15.308 {IDS_STRING3018}Exit Code: -1 11/18/2021 06:29:15.310 [-1] Operation cancelled by user 11/18/2021 06:29:15.318 {IDS_STRING3013}Processed 8.56 GB in 01:01:18 ID=1637213274; {IDS_STRING3020}No Errors; {IDS_STRING3008}Operation cancelled.
For instance, if a full backup of a 1TB or larger disk takes over 24 hours, the task can be canceled before system operation begins to minimize the impact on other tasks.
