Summary
When you try to run a task, you may get a license error message and task execution will fail. The license may be activated for another instance in other environment, and you may not have sufficient number of valid licenses.
Server/Virtual
You are trying to activate the instances exceeding the number of purchased licenses. Please check the number of licenses you have purchased.
You are currently licensed to back up "N" number of computers.
Do you want to deactivate a backup source host? [Yes][No]Except for Server/Virtual
When you do not have appropriate number of valid licenses, you may get the following messages.
- When launching AIP console, you will get the following message (even when you have sufficient number of valid licenses or evaluation period has expired, you may get this message.)
You have no valid license or the evaluation period has expired.
Please purchase required number of licenses and activate the instance.- Clicking "Backup" on AIP console displays the message.
The license period has expired. This feature is no more available.Workaround
Please use the following procedures to deactivate the license.
Server/Virtual Edition
Activate the product on this machine. To utilize existing backup task settings, follow the provided operating procedures.
Operating Procedures
1) Configure a new task settings. When selecting [Next] in [1. Select Backup Source], the following message is displayed:
* As this new task will be finally deleted, you can configure the settings as you like.
2) When selecting [Yes] in the above message [You are trying to activate the instances exceeding the number of purchased licenses.], a list of computers is displayed. Choose the host name for deactivating the license and click on [Deactivate].
3) When [Activation succeeded] message is displayed, click [OK].
The license is deactivated from the chosen host. Any existing tasks on that host will be disabled and encounter a license error.
4) You can utilize the existing task when creating a new task completes. Simply delete the task created in the previous step (Step 1).
When running HyperBack, after selecting [1 Source] > [Select VM] -- select backup source virtual machine, you will get the message "You are trying to activate the instances exceeding the number of purchased licenses." before you proceed to the subsequent step. Please use the same workaround.

Except for Server/Virtual
1)Go to [Help] >[License].
2)Click the icon to the left of activation method and [Activation], the following message will be displayed. Select [OK], and the computer list will be displayed.
Please select the host name to deactivate the license and [Deactivate].
Activation failed.
Reason:Too many activations (Now = N / Limit = N)
To activate the license on this computer, do you want to deactivate the license on another computer?
