Summary
ActiveImage Protector offers two virtual conversion methods. If one method fails during migration, please consider trying another:
1) Conversion from Backup Image / HyperStandby:
- Convert a backup image to a virtual disk or virtual machine in a virtual environment.
- This process includes the installation of the driver for the virtual machine.
2) Conversion of a Physical Disk / vStandby:
- Create a Virtual Standby Replica of the local system on a hypervisor.
- The virtualization process includes installing the driver for the virtual machine.
3) Restore:
- Restore a backup image to a virtual machine.
- When creating a backup image, enable the virtualization option.
- Alternatively, use a virtualization adapter to create a new recovery point (differential backup) by installing the driver for the virtual machine and then proceed with the restore.
