This article explains the space needed in the destination when using HyperRecovery Live!
When VMware vSphere vCenter is selected for the restore target.
Since only "Thick" disks are allowed, the datastore on the restore target must have equal or greater space than the VM's virtual disk size.
When Hyper-V is selected for the restore target.
Whether you choose "Dynamic" or "Fixed" disk provisioning, the destination drive on the restore target must have equal or more space than the VM's virtual disk size.
If the restore target lacks enough space, the task fails and an error is recorded in the task log.

When "Dynamic" is selected, the restored VHDX file size will match the used space of the virtual machine's virtual hard drive.
