Details
When using ActiveImage Protectoro 2022 Desktop, two AIP task tray icons appear in Windows Taskbar Settings on Windows 11 or if AIP Update Patch 24.4.18.1 or later is applied. This issue does not occur on other operating systems or without the patch.
Causes
Before the patch, AIP is registered as "AIPTask.exe" in the registry. After the patch, it's registered as "AipTask.exe," creating two registry entries. This causes two "ActiveImage task tray" icons to appear under [Windows Settings] > [Personal Settings] > [Taskbar] > [Other System Tray Icons].
Resolution
To fix the issue, follow these steps:
1) Open Registry Editor and navigate to:Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\NotifyIconSettings
2) Find a folder with "ExecutablePath" in the Name column and ending in "...\AIPTask.exe" in the Data column.
3) Right-click the folder and delete it.
4) Restart the OS. Check the Taskbar settings; only one icon should appear.
