Downloading and installing Windows ADK

Details

Follow these steps to download and install Windows ADK for creating a boot environment with Windows PE.

Download and install the Windows ADK

Operating procedures for installing Windows ADK

ADK for Windows 10 Version 1803 or earlier

Ex: Downloading and installing Version 1803

1) Download adksetup.exe from "ADK for Windows 10 Version 1803."

2) Run adksetup.exe to launch the wizard.

3) Choose an installation folder.

4) Set privacy options and continue.

5) Accept the license agreement.

6) Select and install the required features.

7) Close the [Welcome] window and finish the wizard.

Windows 10 Version 1809 or later

Ex: Installing Version 1809
1) Download adksetup.exe from "Windows ADK for Windows 10 Version 1803."

2) Download adkwinpesetup.exe (Windows PE add-on for ADK) Version 1809.

3) Follow the installation steps from Version 1803.

4) When running adksetup.exe, select the required features in [Choose the features to install].

Confirm installation of Windows ADK

Open the Windows search box, type "Control Panel," and select it. Go to [Uninstall Program] and check for two programs starting with Windows Assessment & Deployment Kit (Windows ADK). Multiple versions can be installed, but uninstall the current version if you need a different one.
