Notes on restore to different virtual hardware version

Details

1.Create a backup image of a guest of virtual machine version 8 or later (ESX 5.0 or later).
2.Restore the image to ESX4.1 host.
As a result, "[1038] VgCollector return error" occurs immediately after starting restore process.

The above issue occurs when the operation is performed under conditions described as "Not Supported" in the article below.

Workaround

Please perform the restore to an ESX/ESXi host which the virtual hardware version supports.
